EPA (Flawed) Draft Human Health and Ecological Risk Assessments for Glyphosate.

The US EPA has finally completed its (pseudo) Draft Human Health and Ecological Risk Assessments for Glyphosate. Tragically but unsurprisingly, the EPA (Every Poison Allowed) concludes that glyphosate is not likely to be carcinogenic to humans; the EPA writes:

"The Agency’s assessment found no other meaningful risks to human health when the product is used according to the pesticide label. The Agency’s scientific findings are consistent with the conclusions of science reviews by a number of other countries as well as the 2017 National Institute of Health Agricultural Health Survey.

EPA’s human health review evaluated dietary, residential/non-occupational, aggregate, and occupational exposures. Additionally, the Agency performed an in-depth review of the glyphosate cancer database, including data from epidemiological, animal carcinogenicity, and genotoxicity studies.

The ecological risk assessment indicates that there is potential for effects on birds, mammals, and terrestrial and aquatic plants. EPA used the most current risk assessment methods, including an evaluation of the potential effects of glyphosate exposure on animals and plants. Full details on these potential effects as well as the EPA’s methods for estimating them, can be found within the ecological risk assessment."

However, Beyond Pesticides has written a damning letter to the EPA highlighting and explaining the numerous and blatant scientific flaws that plague the EPA's pseudo risk assessment of glyphosate. As Beyond Pesticides write in their concluding remarks:

" However, the EPA has taken a myopic approach to its risk assessment. As debate surrounds glyphosate’s cancer classification and overall safety, the agency fails to consider actual product formulations that present exposures to the public. People are questioning whether the Roundup products they buy at the local garden store and sprayed on their food can increase their risk of cancer. EPA’s human health assessment does NOT answer this question.

EPA chose to ignore the wealth of evidence that show glyphosate-formulated products are more toxic then glyphosate alone. This evidence shows formulated products lead to cell death, potential endocrine disruption, liver damage, and cancer. On the contrary, EPA’s ecological assessment does find it relevant to include glyphosate formulations in assessing exposures to non-target organisms, which affirms the higher toxicity of formulated products.

We urge the agency to hasten its collaboration with the US National Toxicology Program (NTP) to evaluate glyphosate formulations and their impacts on human health. Until such assessments are completed, this human health assessment should be interpreted with caution as its findings are misleading and incomplete. Given glyphosate’s association with increased weed resistance, making it harder and more expensive for farmers to farm, habitat loss, and water contamination, uses of glyphosate must be restricted."

NTP Research Plan

" NTP is currently pursuing glyphosate and glyphosate formulations research. Human exposure to glyphosate usually occurs in the form of glyphosate-based formulations. Few studies have made side-by-side comparisons of the toxicity of glyphosate and glyphosate-based formulations using the same experimental protocols and endpoints. Also, there have been few direct comparisons of the toxicity of different glyphosate products.

Many existing studies of glyphosate and glyphosate-based formulations have focused on whether they induce DNA damage (genetic toxicity) and/or oxidative stress, as both are mechanisms that contribute to carcinogenesis (Smith et al., 2016).

As part of the research plan, NTP will use in vitro and in vitro approaches to further investigate whether glyphosate and glyphosate-based formulations can induce genetic toxicity and/or oxidative stress. Furthermore, NTP will use a transcriptomics (changes in gene expression) approach in vitro to examine whether any other biological perturbations are caused by the test articles. This research effort to interrogate key outcomes will aid interpretation of the existing literature on glyphosate and glyphosate-based formulations. " Link: https://ntp.niehs.nih.gov/resul…/areas/glyphosate/index.html

Mike DeVito, acting chief of the National Toxicology Program Laboratory, told the Guardian the agency’s work is ongoing but its early findings are clear on one key point. “We see the formulations are much more toxic. The formulations were killing the cells. The glyphosate really didn’t do it,” DeVito said. A summary of the NTP work stated that glyphosate formulations decreased human cell “viability”, disrupting cell membranes. Cell viability was “significantly altered” by the formulations, it stated.

Monsanto has never tested the toxicity of its Roundup "secret" formulation

Internal emails from Monsanto reveal that Monsanto never tested the toxicity of Roundup; In a 2003 internal Monsanto email, Monsanto's lead toxicologist Donna Farmer wrote: “You cannot say that Roundup is not a carcinogen … we have not done the necessary testing on the formulation to make that statement. The testing on the formulations are not anywhere near the level of the active ingredient.” Another Monsanto internal email written in 2010 stated: “With regards to the carcinogenicity of our formulations we don’t have such testing on them directly.” And an internal Monsanto email from 2002 stated: “Glyphosate is OK but the formulated product … does the damage.” Source: https://www.theguardian.com/…/weedkiller-tests-monsanto-hea…

The EPA's final decision for the re-approval of glyphosate/Roundup/GBH in the US is due in 2019.

 The battle continues...

RE: Proposed Re-evaluation Decision PRVD2015-01, Glyphosate:

Dear Dr. Jane Philpott and Dr. Richard Aucoin,

I am writing to you regarding the ongoing risk assessment and re-evaluation of glyphosate by Health Canada/PMRA (Proposed Re-evaluation Decision PRVD2015-01)

I hereby wish to share with you some recently published peer reviewed scientific literature, data and evidence on the toxicity of Glyphosate Based Herbicides (GBH) residues in our food and water.
Monsanto, the industry and regulatory agencies in the US (EPA), EU (EFSA) and in Canada (Health Canada) have (erroneously) discredited and dismissed the recent WHO/International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) credible and alarming classification of glyphosate as a "probable human carcinogen” by arguing that a health hazard is not a health risk because - they erroneously argue - a health risk is based on the level of human exposure to glyphosate/Roundup.

As Health Canada writes in its own risk assessment and proposed re-evaluation decision of glyphosate:

Excerpts:

" The World Health Organization's (WHO) International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) recently assigned a hazard classification for glyphosate as "probably carcinogenic to humans". It is important to note that a hazard classification is not a health risk assessment. The level of human exposure, which determines the actual risk, was not taken into account by WHO (IARC). Pesticides are registered for use in Canada only if the level of exposure to Canadians does not cause any harmful effects, including cancer.

Only uses for which exposure is well below levels that cause no effects in animal testing are considered acceptable for registration. Toxicology studies in laboratory animals describe potential health effects from varying levels of exposure to a chemical and identify the dose at which no effects are observed. The risk assessment approach ensures that the level of exposure to humans is well below the lowest dose at which these effects occurred in animal tests."

GBH residues in our food and water

Health Canada further writes:

" Dietary risks from food and water are not of concern."

" Reference doses define levels to which an individual can be exposed over a single day (acute) or lifetime (chronic) and expect no adverse health effects. Generally, dietary exposure from food and water is acceptable if it is less than 100% of the acute reference dose or chronic reference dose (acceptable daily intake). An acceptable daily intake is an estimate of the level of daily exposure to a pesticide residue that, over a lifetime, is believed to have no significant harmful effects.

The chronic dietary exposure estimate for the general population represents 30% of the acceptable daily intake (ADI). Exposure estimates for population subgroups range from 20% of the ADI (for adults aged 50 years or older) to 70% of the ADI (for children 1-2 years old). Thus, acute and chronic dietary risks are not of concern. Food containing a pesticide residue that does not exceed the established MRL does not pose a health risk concern."

Moreover, the recently held joint WHO-FAO Meeting on Pesticide Residues (JMPR) - the arm of the WHO that determines and sets the so-called "safe" level of pesticide residues allowed in our food and water - has also (erroneously) declared that glyphosate is unlikely to cause cancer through pesticide residues in our food. The summary report from the JMPR is available at this link: http://www.who.int/foodsafety/jmprsummary2016.pdf?ua=1

GLYPHOSATE/ROUNDUP/GBH: ENDOCRINE DISRUPTING CHEMICALS (EDC) TOXIC AT LOW/MINUTE DOSES:

What both Health Canada/PMRA and the joint WHO-FAO/JMPR omit to indicate and take into account in their risk assessment and in setting the ADI for GBHs, is that both glyphosate (Active Principle), Roundup (formulation) and each one of its so-called “inert” and "secret" co-formulants have alarmingly been found to be endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) which are extremely toxic to human health at low/minute doses.

As the following paper explains:

" The endocrine disrupting effect of glyphosate and its commercial formulations (i.e. Roundup) is their most insidious and worrying toxic effect. This is because EDC's do not function like normal poisons, where a higher dose gives greater toxicity. Often, endocrine disruptive effects are seen at lower doses but not at higher doses. The studies conducted by industry for regulatory purposes use relatively high doses and are not able to detect these effects. Endocrine disruption in humans is thought to contribute to some cancers, birth defects, reproductive problems such as infertility, and developmental problems in foetuses, babies, and children.

Governments recognize the threat posed by endocrine disruption, which are believed to be implicated in serious diseases, such as cancer, reproductive and developmental problems, and birth defects. These effects are thought to result from very low doses over a long period of exposure or from exposures in critical windows of development, such as foetal development in the womb.
Source: http://detoxproject.org/glyphosate/hormone-hacking/

Alarmingly, professor Gilles-Éric Séralini and his team of prominent and eminent scientific researchers have recently found both glyphosate, Roundup as well as each one of its so-called “inert” and “secret” co-formulants to be endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDC).

Excerpts:

" A new study shows that the Acceptable Daily Intake (ADI), the supposedly safe level for glyphosate is unreliable in terms of assessing the risks of the complete commercial formulations that we are actually exposed to. The co-formulants were shown in the new study to have a far more powerful endocrine-disrupting effect at lower doses than the isolated active ingredient i.e. glyphosate. The complete formulations (i.e. Roundup) were also found to have much greater endocrine disrupting effects at lower doses than glyphosate alone. The research shows that the ADI should be calculated from toxicity tests on the commercial formulations as sold and used. The new study is the first ever demonstration that the endocrine disrupting effects of glyphosate based herbicides (GBH) are not only attributable to glyphosate, the declared active ingredient, but above all to the co-formulants."
Link to the study: http://www.gmoseralini.org/new-research-shows-regulatory-s…/

As the following paper further explains:

" The so-called safe levels of glyphosate exposure have never been tested directly to determine if indeed they are really safe to consume over the long term. Instead the “safe” levels are extrapolated from higher doses tested in industry studies. Industry toxicity study protocols are out of date. All toxicity tests conducted by industry for regulatory purposes are based on the old adage: “The dose makes the poison” – that is, the higher the dose, the greater the degree of toxicity. However, in some cases, low doses corresponding to human exposures can be more toxic than the higher doses tested in laboratory animals in industry studies. This is especially true for chemicals that disrupt the hormonal system (endocrine disruptors). Safe levels of these chemicals cannot be extrapolated from effects at higher doses. Evidence from in vitro and animal experiments shows that glyphosate may be an endocrine disruptor at levels permitted in tap water in the EU.

Findings that glyphosate and its commercial formulations may be endocrine disruptors imply that the standard industry long-term animal studies are inadequate. These studies are conducted on adult animals, and fail to test the effects of exposure during important windows of development, such as foetal development. Yet hormones are vital regulators of development. A subtle hormonal effect during early life can modify organ morphology and function for the rest of the life, as well as potentially leading to chronic diseases such as cancer and reproductive dysfunction in adults.

The complete glyphosate herbicide formulations as sold and used contain additives (adjuvants), which are toxic in their own right and/or increase the toxicity of glyphosate. Safety limits are set for the isolated ingredient glyphosate, but the whole formulations, which are generally more toxic, are never tested to determine long-term toxic effects. This limitation of the regulatory process applies to all pesticides in all countries worldwide. Studies in rats confirm that the complete glyphosate herbicide formulations are toxic at levels deemed safe by regulators for the isolated ingredient glyphosate. Other feeding studies in pigs and rats directly comparing the toxicity of formulations with glyphosate alone found that the formulations were far more toxic.

Even glyphosate alone may not be as safe as claimed. Industry tests on glyphosate alone revealed toxic effects, notably birth defects, below the levels that regulators claimed showed no toxic effect – but these results were ignored or dismissed by regulators in setting the supposedly safe ADI. Independent studies have found toxic effects of glyphosate and its commercial formulations at environmentally realistic levels, which have never been tested by regulators. Effects include oxidative stress on liver and kidneys and endocrine disrupting effects. These findings, taken as a whole, suggest that the levels of Roundup we are exposed to may not be safe over the long term."

The following independent peer reviewed published studies have also found both glyphosate and Roundup to be EDCs:
http://www.endocrinedisruption.org/…/tedx-l…/chemicalsearch…

Moreover, a peer reviewed Scientific Consensus Statement recently published by a number of prominent and eminent scientists states:

Abstract:

" Our Statement of Concern considers current published literature describing glyphosate based herbicides (GBH) uses, mechanisms of action, toxicity in laboratory animals, and epidemiological studies. It also examines the derivation of current human safety standards.
We conclude that: (1) GBHs are the most heavily applied herbicide in the world and usage continues to rise; (2) Worldwide, GBHs often contaminate drinking water sources, precipitation, and air, especially in agricultural regions; (3) The half-life of glyphosate in water and soil is longer than previously recognized; (4) Glyphosate and its metabolites are widely present in the global soybean supply; (5) Human exposures to GBHs are rising; (6) Glyphosate is now authoritatively classified as a probable human carcinogen; (7) Regulatory estimates of tolerable daily intakes for glyphosate in the United States and European Union are based on outdated science." (emphasis is mine.)

" We offer a series of recommendations related to the need for new investments in epidemiological studies, biomonitoring, and toxicology studies that draw on the principles of endocrinology to determine whether the effects of GBHs are due to endocrine disrupting activities.
We suggest that common commercial formulations of GBHs should be prioritized for inclusion in government-led toxicology testing programs such as the U.S. National Toxicology Program, as well as for biomonitoring as conducted by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention."

The Endocrine Society has also recently published an alarming (2nd) Scientific Statement on the toxicity of EDC's:

" This Executive Summary to the Endocrine Society's second Scientific Statement on environmental endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) provides a synthesis of the key points of the complete statement. The full Scientific Statement represents a comprehensive review of the literature (1300 studies) on seven topics for which there is strong mechanistic, experimental, animal, and epidemiological evidence for endocrine disruption, namely: obesity and diabetes, female reproduction, male reproduction, hormone-sensitive cancers in females, prostate cancer, thyroid, and neurodevelopment and neuroendocrine systems."

"Scientific advances over the past 5 years (encompassing 1300 studies) reveal numerous EDC effects on obesity, diabetes, male and female reproduction (including cancer), the prostate and thyroid glands, and neurodevelopment. The past 5 years represent a leap forward in our understanding of EDC actions on endocrine health and disease."

Glyphosate Risk Assessment: Health Hazards vs Health Risks

Furthermore, the risk assessment of GBHs carried out by Health Canada/PMRA and all regulatory agencies is scientifically flawed and outdated for the reasons briefly explained below.

1) “The dose makes the poison”

The health hazards vs health risks assessment carried out by Health Canada/PMRA and by all regulatory agencies is scientifically flawed and outdated because regulators erroneously believe the five century old adage that the “dose makes the poison.” However, recent toxicology peer-reviewed and published scientific research has shown that this outdated dogma is in many cases inaccurate and quite often the opposite is true (i.e. linear vs nonmonotonic dose-response curves) Study link:http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22419778

2) Active Principle (glyphosate) vs Formulation/product (Roundup)

Regulatory agencies only review the toxicity of the Active Principle alone (i.e. glyphosate) and not the whole product formulation (i.e Roundup) which contains other highly toxic and synergistic “secret” adjuvants. However, a recent landmark peer-reviewed and published study has alarmingly found Monsanto's Roundup and other pesticide formulations to be 125-1000 times more toxic than their declared Active Principle.

The authors of the study alarmingly found and write:

“We tested the toxicity of 9 pesticides, comparing active principles and their formulations, on three human cell lines[...] Despite its relatively benign reputation, Roundup was among the most toxic herbicides and insecticides tested. Most importantly, 8 formulations out of 9 were up to one thousand times more toxic than their active principles. Our results challenge the relevance of the acceptable daily intake for pesticides because this norm is calculated from the toxicity of the active principle alone. Chronic tests on pesticides may not reflect relevant environmental exposures if only one ingredient of these mixtures is tested alone.”
Study Link: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3955666/

EPA and EFSA recognize the toxicity of GBH formulations

Both the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) have publicly recognized the toxicity of glyphosate based herbicides (GBH) formulations.

In its own risk assessment of glyphosate, the EPA publicly admits and states that it evaluated only the "human carcinogenic potential for the active ingredient," not that of "glyphosate-based pesticide formulations." The EPA acknowledges that the formulations may be more toxic than glyphosate and expresses the need to evaluate the toxicity of the entire formulation i.e. Roundup.  The EPA is developing a “research plan” with the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences to “evaluate the role of glyphosate in product formulations and the differences in formulation toxicity.”

Similarly, EFSA's risk assessment of glyphosate was based exclusively on the toxicity of glyphosate alone, not on the complete formulation; although EFSA acknowledged that one common ingredient in glyphosate based herbicides - POE-tallowamine - is more toxic than glyphosate itself, EFSA publicly admits and writes that the carcinogenic potential of GBH formulations "should be further considered and addressed."

3) Acceptable Daily Intake (ADI)

Health Canada/PMRA and regulatory agencies worldwide determine and set the Acceptable Daily Intake (ADI) of glyphosate/Roundup based exclusively on the Active Principle alone (AP) (i.e. glyphosate) and not on the complete product formulation (i.e. Roundup). However, the actual product that is approved by regulatory agencies and copiously sprayed in our food, soil, water, air and environment is not only glyphosate (AP) but the whole product formulation (i.e. Roundup). This constitutes a flagrant and dangerous flaw in the risk assessment of GBHs and a serious health risk to public health

ROUNDUP (GBH) RESIDUES IN OUR FOOD AND WATER

Roundup residues have alarmingly been found in various common food items i.e. flour, bread, cereals, lentils, peas, beans, potatoes, dairy, eggs, fruits, vegetables, wine, beers, etc., as well as in human urine, blood and breastmilk!
http://beyondpesticides.org/…/glyphosate-residues-found-in…/

Roundup is alarmingly ubiquitous in our daily food supply, as the following recent investigative articles and reports alarmingly reveal:

https://usrtk.org/…/CFIA_ACIA-9123346-v1-FSSD-FSSS-Glyphosa…
http://www.cbc.ca/n…/health/cfia-report-glyphosate-1.4070275
http://www.truth-out.org/…/35919-not-just-for-corn-and-soy-…
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/…/fda-tests-confirm-oatmeal_b…
https://s3.amazonaws.com/…/FDN_Glyphosate_FoodTesting_Repor…

In fact, Roundup is not only used on GMO crops; it is also widely used as a dessicant to dry and kill non-GMO grain crops such as wheat, oats, barley, flax, etc. a few weeks before harvest; it is also copiously sprayed on nuts, lentils, peas, beans, potatoes, fruits and vegetables.

In its “pre-harvest staging guide” Monsanto states: “A preharvest weed control application is an excellent management strategy to not only control perennial weeds, but to facilitate harvest management and get a head start on next year’s crop.”
Source: https://usrtk.org/…/Monsanto-application-guide-for-preharve…

Roundup is also present in our daily drinking water supply. The following recently published study also found ultra-low dose exposure to Roundup in drinking water to adverse impacts on rat livers and kidneys: http://ehjournal.biomedcentral.com/…/10.1…/s12940-015-0056-1

Monsanto and the industry of course deny that glyphosate/Roundup residues in our food and water supply are dangerous to human health. "According to physicians and other food safety experts, the mere presence of a chemical itself is not a human health hazard. It is the amount, or dose, that matters," Monsanto senior toxicologist Kimberly Hodge-Bell said in the Monsanto blog; "trace amounts are not unsafe".
Source: http://www.reuters.com/…/us-food-agriculture-glyphosate-idU…

However, this misleading and false public statement by Kimberly Hodge-Bell and Monsanto is not supported by the peer reviewed published scientific literature, evidence and data and is contradicted by the science of toxicology and endocrinology, as I have argued and demonstrated in this paper.

Conclusion

To summarize and to conclude, Monsanto, Health Canada, regulatory agencies and the Joint WHO-FAO JMPR claim and argue that glyphosate/Roundup residues in our food and water are safe for human consumption and pose no human health risks; they erroneously believe in the five century old and outdated dogma that “the dose makes the poison.” However, recent toxicology research has shown that this belief is in many cases inaccurate and quite often the opposite is true i.e. linear vs nonmonotonic dose-response curves.

Furthermore, glyphosate, Roundup and each one of its so-called “inert” and “secret” co-formulants have been found to be endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDC) which are extremely toxic to human health at low/minute doses. Endocrine disruptive effects are seen at lower doses but not at higher doses. The studies conducted by industry for regulatory purpose and approval use relatively high doses and are not able to detect these effects.

EDCs in humans are believed to contribute to some cancers, birth defects, reproductive problems such as infertility, and developmental problems in foetuses, babies, and children. These effects are thought to result from very low doses over a long period of exposure or from exposures in critical windows of development, such as foetal development in the womb.

Furthermore, Health Canada/PMRA and all regulatory agencies only review industry-funded and supplied studies on the toxicity of the Active Principle (AP) alone (i.e. glyphosate), not on the whole product formulation (i.e. Roundup) which contains other highly toxic and synergistic “secret” adjuvants. However, a recent landmark peer-reviewed published study has alarmingly found Roundup and other pesticide formulations to be 125-1000 times more toxic than their declared Active Principle.

Health Canada/PMRA sets the Acceptable Daily Intake (ADI) of pesticide residues in our food and water based exclusively on the toxicity of glyphosate alone and not on the entire formulation i.e. Roundup. However, the actual product that is approved by Health Canada/PMRA and copiously sprayed in our food, water, soil, air and environment is not only glyphosate (AP), but the complete pesticide formulation i.e. Roundup. This constitutes a major flaw in the risk assessment of glyphosate/Roundup and all GBH formulations and a serious danger and risk to public health.

Therefore, it is fair to conclude that both the risk assessment of glyphosate/Roundup and all GBH formulations as well as the ADI set by Health Canada/PMRA are scientifically flawed and outdated and extremely toxic to human health since they expose us to extremely high doses of glyphosate based herbicides (GBHs) and endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) residues in our food and water.

I hereby ask you both Dr. Jane Philpott and Dr. Richard Aucoin to urgently and carefully read, study and take into account the above published peer reviewed scientific literature, data and evidence on the toxicity of Monsanto's Roundup and all GBHs in your ongoing risk assessment and final re-evaluation decision of glyphosate/Roundup/GBHs and to BAN all ongoing and future usage of GBHs in our food, water and environment to protect our health, our lives and our environment.

Both you Dr. Jane Philpott as Canadian Health Minister and Dr. Richard Aucoin have a public mandate and a legal obligation and responsibilty to make sure that the food we eat and the water we drink is safe for human consumption and to protect the health and the lives of all Canadians.

HEALTH CANADA FINAL RE-EVALUATION DECISION ON GLYPHOSATE

Tragically but unsurprisingly, Health Canada and Health Minister Jane Philpott have re-approved the unrestricted use of glyphosate/GBH/Roundup in Canada for another 15 years! Health Canada writes: " Following a rigorous science-based assessment, Health Canada has determined that when used according to the label, products containing glyphosate are not a concern to human health and the environment."

GLYPHOSATE & MONSANTO'S ROUNDUP IS KILLING ALL LIFE ON THIS PLANET!

GLYPHOSATE & MONSANTO'S ROUNDUP HERBICIDE IS KILLING THE SOIL, PLANTS, ANIMALS AND HUMANS!

Over the last several months and years, there has been an avalanche of independent peer-reviewed and published scientific literature and evidence that irrefutably shows and proves that glyphosate (the “active” ingredient in Monsanto's Round Up Ready herbicide used on both GMO crops and conventional crops as a desiccant) is literally killing the soil, crops and plants, livestock, animals, bees, butterflies, birds and other pollinators as well as humans! Please read this report and these articles that provide an overview of the scientific evidence on the human and animal health and environmental hazards of glyphosate/Roundup.

Glyphosate found in animal feed, human food, soil, water, air and human urine, blood, breastmilk and human embryo!

Glyphosate residues have been found and are present throughout our food supply; over 90% of all processed so-called "food" and drinks in the supermarkets in North America contain GMO ingredients (GM corn, soya, canola, sugar beet, etc.) sprayed with Monsanto's RoundUp herbicide, as well as non-GMO crops such as conventional wheat, grain, peas, beans, lentils, fruits and vegetables, etc. sprayed with glyphosate as a desiccant to kill the plants before harvest! Please read this article by Dr. Thierry Vrain - an expert on genetic engineering and glyphosate - on the widespread presence and dangers of glyphosate and Monsanto's Round Up herbicide in our food supply.

Furthermore, glyphosate and RoundUp have also been found in the soil, in water ( rivers, lakes, streams, ocean, underground water, wells, tap water, in the air and even in rain water. Indeed, according to Paul Capel, author of research published by the US Geological Survey"Though glyphosate is the mostly widely used herbicide in the world, we know very little about its long term effects to the environment. This study is one of the first to document the consistent occurrence of this chemical in streams, rain and air throughout the growing season."

Worse, glyphosate has also been found in the urine, blood and in the breastmilk and the embryo of pregnant women in the US! Furthermore (it gets worse), several peer-reviewed and published scientific studies have linked glyphosate to a myriad of chronic human illnesses and diseases such as cancer, infertility, miscarriage, birth deformities, Parkinson's, Alzeimer, dementia, depression, autism, etc. (list not exhaustive)

WHO: Glyphosate is a "probable human carcinogen..."

Moreover, on March 2015 the World Health Organization (WHO) found and declared that glyphosate can probably cause cancer in humans. Please read this very informative article that explains and provides a background to the WHO glyphosate carcinogen findings as well as this recent article which argues that glyphosate is a human carcinogen.

Futhermore, it was found and revealed that both Monsanto and the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) (US federal regulatory agency) knew over 35 years ago that glyphosate could cause cancer. And yet, the EPA approved the widespread use of glyphosate in the US and Monsanto has sold and applied hundreds of billions of highly toxic and cancer causing pounds of glyphosate and Round Up herbicides throughout the US (and the world) over the last 40 years!

Even the scientific community knew and warned for years that glyphosate was carcinogenic. But the EPA (Environmental POISONING Agency) decided to ignore the scientific evidence and the warnings of scientists and approved and authorized the use of hundreds of billions of pounds of glyphosate and of Monsanto's Round Up herbicides across the US and the world for the last 40 years!

Strong statistical correlation between glyphosate and autism

Furthermore, Dr. Stephanie Senneff – a Ph.D scientist from the MIT -  has been doing research on the toxicity of glyphosate on human health and on the correlation between glyphosate and autism. Tragically Dr. Senneff predicts that at the current level of glyphosate use, 50% of children in the US will have autism by the year 2025”! Please see the graph below on the strong correlation between autism and glyphosate and read the following article. This is truly a Crime Against Humanity!

Last but not least, over 300 scientists, academics, researchers, farmers, etc. from over 12 countries met in Beijing, China in July 2014 at the Food Safety and Sustainable Agriculture Forum to share and discuss the growing scientific literature and evidence of the human, animal and environmental dangers of glyphosate and Round Up Ready herbicides applied on both conventional food crops and GMO crops respectively. Alarmingly, they found and concluded that glyphosate and Round Up herbicides are indeed killing the soil, the crops and plants, the livestock and animals and humans!

Note: China is the largest producer of glyphosate in the world and the largest importer and consumer of GM Soy and GM corn used for both animal feed and human "food," copiously sprayed with glyphosate/Roundup (produced mainly in Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, USA and Canada). Please read this very informative article that explains how China's policies are destroying the planet's environment and poisoning its own people.

Last but not least, please watch this mind blowing, eye opening, very disturbing and alarming MUST WATCH interview with Dr. Don Huber – a retired US-government Ph.D scientist with over 50 years of research – as he explain how glyphosate and Monsanto's Round Up herbicide is killing the soil, the crops and plants, the livestock, animals, bees and other pollinators as well as humans!

Regulatory “re-evaluation” and re-approval of glyphosate in the USA, EU and Canada in 2015

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the EU European Food Safety Agency (EFSA) and Health Canada are currently “re-evaluating” glyphosate this year (2015), and they will be re-approving and re-authorizing its use for another 10-15 years. You can read the deceitful scientific fraud and manipulation and the controversy surrounding the re-evaluation of glyphosate in the EU by reading this article as well as this report by Friends of the Earth Europe on the re-evaluation and re-approval of glyphosate in the EU.

However, in spite of the mountain of independent published peer-reviewed scientific literature and evidence on the human, animal and environmental hazards of glyphosate and Monsanto's RoundUp, all the Western regulatory agencies have approved and authorized the widespread use of glyphosate and of Monsanto's Round Up -  both of which have never been independently tested and studied.

In fact, none of the regulatory agencies have ever tested and studied either glyphosate or Monsanto's RoundUp independently, which contains not only glyphosate as its "active" ingredient but also other highly toxic adjuvants which - according to peer-reviewed and published scientific research conducted by professor Gille-Eric Séralini - makes it more toxic than glyphosate alone. You can read Professor Séralini's study (re)published in Environmental Sciences Europe at this link.

However, all the Western regulatory agencies categorically refuse to test Monsanto's RoundUp, and instead simply rubber stamp industry-supplied data and funded studies on glyphosate/Roundup. Furthermore, both Monsanto and the regulatory agencies categorically refuse to provide the public and independent scientists and researchers with the industry data and industry supplied/funded studies they used to "evaluate" and approve the sale and use of glyphosate, RoundUp and other highly toxic, poisonous and lethal herbicides and pesticides.

In fact, the EFSA, the German and the Chinese governments have repeatedly and categorically refused to provide the public and independent scientists with the industry funded studies that they used to "evaluate" and approve glyphosate and Monsanto's RoundUp in the EU in 2002 and in China in 1998 . What are they hiding from independent scientists and from the public...? Monsanto claims that their toxicity studies used by the regulatory agencies are "commercial secrets." Please read this article on the subject as well as this very informative article on the toxicity of Monsanto's RoundUp herbicide used on GMO crops.

Health Canada and EPA approve Dow Chemical's Enlist Duo herbicide and GMO's

Worse, both HealthCanada and the EPA have recently (2013-2014) approved the sale and the use of Dow Chemical's extremely toxic Enlist Duo herbicide and GMO's, which contains not only glyphosate but also 2,4-D, the poisonous and lethal chemical used in Agent Orange during the Vietnam War which killed half a million Vietnamese and left another half a million born with birth defects and crippled for life! Incredibly, the EPA states that Dow's Enlist Duo is " safe for everyone, including infants, the developing fetus, the elderly, and highly exposed groups including agricultural workers. The approved use is safe for the environment including endangered species."
This is truly a Crime Against Humanity!

Although the EPA received more than 400,000 comments and more than half a million Americans as well as several health and environmental organizations, scientists, doctors, etc. petitioned the EPA to refuse the approval of Dow's highly toxic Enlist Duo herbicide, the EPA still approved it! The Centre for Food Safety in the US has recently filed another lawsuit against the EPA for approving Dow's Enlist Duo in the US.

PMRA/Health Canada's approval of Dow's Enlist Duo/2,4-D

In spite of the mountain of peer-reviewed and published scientific studies and the overwhelming empirical evidence on the toxicity of 2,4-D on both human health and the environment, PMRA/Health Canada has also incredibly and tragically approved the sale and the use of Dow's Enlist Duo herbicide and GMO's in 2013. In fact Canada is the first country in the world to have approved Dow's Enlist Duo, to be copiously sprayed on both GMO so-called "food" crops and in our environment.

In fact, PMRA/Health Canada have tragically rubber stamped and approved Dow's highly toxic Duo
Enlist herbicide to be sprayed on GM crops in Canada to combat “superweeds” that have unsurprisingly, naturally and predictably become resistant to glyphosate/Roundup herbicides, and will therefore inevitably contaminate and end up in our unlabelled GMO-infested toxic so-called “food” supply, in our soil, water, air, environment and in our bodies!

Breaking News update (30 May): WHO/IARC to review toxicity of 2,4-D...

Interestingly, a recently published article reveals that the WHO/IARC will also analyze the peer reviewed and published scientific literature on the human and animal health and environmental toxicity of 2,4-D during their meeting to be held next week (02 June) in Lyon, France. “I do think they are going to upgrade 2,4-D” Michael Hansen, a senior scientist at Consumers Union and consultant to the WHO told Reuters.“ There is just as strong, or even a stronger case [for links to cancer], on 2,4-D than there was for glyphosate.”

Breaking news (22 June): The WHO/IARC has finally declared and classified 2,4-D as a possible human carcinogen. This is very significant since both Health Canada and the US EPA have granted regulatory approval in 2013-2014 for Dow's Enlist Duo herbicide/GMO's which contains not only glyphosate but 2,4-D! This puts a nail in the coffin of Dow's Enlist Duo and its 2,4-D tolerant GMO crops!

Superweeds & the toxic pesticide treadmill...

Weeds have naturally and predictably developed resistance to both glyphosate and Roundup. As a result, “farmers” have to spray a cocktail of more and more toxic herbicides – including 2,4-D - to combat weed resistance, further exponentially increasing the use of toxic herbicides on our “food” crops and in the environment, leading to further human and animal poisoning and widespread environmental destruction.

Incredibly, PMRA/Health Canada has entirely ignored the issue of weed resistance in its re-evaluation of glyphosate. In fact, there is no mention of glyphosate-resistant weeds anywhere in the Environmental Considerations of the PMRA's Proposed Re-evaluation decision for glyphosate.

Glyphosate-resistant weeds in Canada.

A report published this week by the Canadian Biotechnology Action Network (CBAN) reveals that
“ there are five species of glyphosate-resistant weeds now found in Canada. An online survey of
farmers in 2013 estimated that more than one million acres of Canadian farmland had glyphosateresistant weeds growing on them.” Also see the following links for a list of glyphosate-resistant weeds in Canada and across the world.

Even Monsanto’s technical development manager, Rick Cole, publicly recognized the problem of weed resistance to glyphosate/Roundup: " The problem of weeds that have developed a resistance to
Roundup crops is real and [Monsanto] doesn’t deny that, however the problem is manageable” he
said.

“Solution” offered by Monsanto: Use a cocktail of more toxic herbicides…

According to Monsanto press releases, company sales representatives are encouraging farmers to mix
glyphosate and older highly toxic herbicides such as 2,4-D - which is banned in Sweden, Denmark and Norway over its links to cancer, reproductive harm and mental impairment - to combat weeds
resistance to glyphosate/Roundup, which will further exacerbate the problem of weed resistance,
further poison and destroy the environment and further poison us...

As Einstein rightly said: "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting
different results"

Several countries have banned glyphosate and Monsanto's RoundUp

Several countries have already banned glyphosate and Monsanto's RoundUp: Denmark banned RoundUp in 2003 after it found that it contamined its drinking groundwater supply; the Netherlands has banned all (non-commercial) glyphosate use citing health hazards; Sri Lanka and El Salvador banned it in 2013 following an epidemic of kidney disease and failure among its agricultural workers; Brazil has recently filed a lawsuit to ban both glyphosate and RoundUp sprayed on GMO crops; and Russia has prohibited all importation and cultivation of GMO's.

Glyphosate is everywhere in our environment

What is important to note and to understand is that glyphosate - the "active" ingredient in Monsanto's RoundUp Ready herbicide sprayed on GMO crops - is widely found, sold and used in hundreds of other weed killers and widely used on private and public lawns, parks, schools, golf gorses, railway tracks, etc. and other public areas. Thus we are not only exposed to it through residues in our food supply, water, etc. but also in our daily outdoor activities. It is truly everywhere in our environment and we are all literally eating it, drinking it and breathing it everyday!

Health Canada favorably "re-evaluates" and re-approves glyphosate

Tragically, Health Canada has favorably “re-evaluated” and re-approved glyphosate on 13 April 2015, based exclusively on biased and deeply flawed industry-supplied and/or funded studies, while entirely ignoring the mountain of independent peer-reviewed and published scientific literature and evidence on the human, animal health and environmental hazards of glyphosate and Monsanto's Roundup.

Here is a statement published on Health Canada's website regarding their "re-evaluation" of glyphosate: "After a re-evaluation of the herbicide glyphosate, Health Canada’s Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA), is proposing continued registration of products containing glyphosate for sale and use in Canada. An evaluation of available scientific information found that products containing glyphosate do not present unacceptable risks to human health or the environment when used according to the proposed label directions."

However, the PMRA/Health Canada have never independently tested either glyphosate and/or Monsanto's Roundup, which contains not only glyphosate as its "active" ingredient, but also other highly toxic adjuvants which together - according to peer-reviewed published scientific research - makes it even more toxic than glyphosate alone. In fact, according to a recently published landmark scientific study titled Major pesticides are more toxic to human cells than their declared active principles, Monsanto's RoundUp was found to be 125 times more toxic than its "active" ingredient glyphosate.

In fact, in my recent correspondence with both Rona Ambrose - the Canadian Health Minister - and Richard Aucoin - the Executive Director of the PMRA - regarding PMRA/Health Canada's re-evaluation of glyphosate, Mr Richard Aucoin has himself admitted and written in response to my letter of inquiry that PMRA does not conduct animal or environmental toxicity studies for pesticide active ingredient or products.”

Furthermore, PMRA/Health Canada simply "analyze" "secret" and "confidential" industry supplied data and rubber stamp industry supplied and/or funded studies which have not been peer-reviewed and published in scientific journals. In fact, Mr. Richard Aucoin himself admits and writes in his letter in response to my inquiry on the subject that “these studies are conducted either by the applicants or by industry-sponsored independent third party laboratories [...], “that this raw data is not provided in peer-reviewed scientific publication” and that “the decision to publish these studies is that of industry.”

Is there not a flagrant conflict of interest and gross scientific bias in reviewing industry supplied "secret" data and/or funded studies that have not been peer-reviewed and published in scientific journals ? And can there be any scientific integrity with such flawed and bias methodology and any scientific validity with the findings and conclusions of such bias studies ?

Furthermore, PMRA/Health Canada have totally ignored and dismissed the credible and alarming conclusion of the IARC scientific study which found and declared that glyphosate was a probable human carcinogen. Health Canada states that The World Health Organization's (WHO) International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) recently assigned a hazard classification for glyphosate as "probably carcinogenic to humans". It is important to note that a hazard classification is not a health risk assessment. The level of human exposure, which determines the actual risk, was not taken into account by WHO (IARC). Pesticides are registered for use in Canada only if the level of exposure to Canadians does not cause any harmful effects, including cancer."  Source: http://www.hc-sc.gc.ca/cps-spc/pest/part/consultations/_prvd2015-01/prvd2015-01-eng.php#a4

Is there truly any "safe" level of human exposure for a highly toxic chemical/product that is found to be a probable human carcinogen by the world authority on cancer...? Furthermore, traditional toxicology erroneously believes that " the dose makes the poison." However, scientific evidence now reveals that this statement is, in many cases, inaccurate and quite often the opposite is true (please read the study below).

Glyphosate Risk Assessment: Health hazard vs health ris

1) “The dose makes the poison”

The health hazards vs health risks assessment used by Health Canada/PMRA (and all regulatory agencies) is scientifically flawed and invalid because Health Canada erroneously believes and argues that the “dose makes the poison.” In fact toxicology peer reviewed and published scientific research and evidence (please see copy below) has shown that this belief is in many cases inaccurate and quite often the opposite is true (i.e. linear vs nonmonotonic dose-response curves)
Please read the box below and the following study

2) Active Principle (glyphosate) vs Formulation/product (Roundup)

Health Canada (and all regulatory agencies) only reviews the toxicity of the Active Principle alone (i.e. glyphosate) and not the whole product formulation (i.e Roundup) which contains other highly toxic and synergistic “secret” adjuvants.

However, peer reviewed published studies (see copy below) have found Roundup and other pesticide formulation to be 125 to over 1000 times more toxic respectively than their declared Active Principle. The authors of the study alarmingly found and write: “We tested the toxicity of 9 pesticides, comparing active principles and their formulations, on three human cell lines[...] Despite its relatively benign reputation, Roundup was among the most toxic herbicides and insecticides tested. Most importantly, 8 formulations out of 9 were up to one thousand times more toxic than their active principles. Our results challenge the relevance of the acceptable daily intake for pesticides because this norm is calculated from the toxicity of the active principle alone. Chronic tests on pesticides may not reflect relevant environmental exposures if only one ingredient of these mixtures is tested alone.” Please read the following study

3) Acceptable Daily Intake (ADI)

Health Canada/PMRA (and all regulatory agencies) determines and sets the ADI (i.e. allowed residue levels of pesticides on our food, water, etc.) based exclusively on the Active Principle alone (i.e. glyphosate) and not on the product formulation (i.e. Roundup.) However, the actual product that is approved by Health Canada and used copiously on our food supply, soil, water, air and environment is not only glyphosate (AP) but the whole product formulation (i.e. Roundup.)

In view of the above, I think that it is fair to conclude that both the Risk Assessment and the ADI set by Health Canada/PMRA (and all regulatory agencies) are scientifically flawed and extremely dangerous to both our health and our lives since they literally poison us with high doses of extremely toxic chemical formulations copiously sprayed on our food supply, soil, water, air and environment (i.e. Monsanto's Roundup, Dow's Enlist Duo, etc.)

Please also read this recently published study on the toxicity of glyphosate and Roundup below regulatory levels.

Last but not least, Dr. Anthony Samsel recently obtained and analyzed the "secret" "confidential" data submitted by Monsanto to the US EPA in the late 1970's for the approval of glyphosate in the US and alarmingly found that "glyphosate has an inverse dose-toxicity relationship."
Worse, Dr. Anthony Samsel found that both Monsanto and the EPA knew OVER 40 YEARS AGO that glyphosate/Roundup caused cancer and other chronic and deadly diseases in both animals and humans; however, Monsanto falsified and hid its own toxicological data and the EPA rubber-stamped and approved the sale and the use of cancer-causing glyphosate/Roundup in the US and around the world for the last 40 years! Please read this alarming investigative article as well as this article. Both Monsanto and the EPA MUST be sued and tried for Crimes Against Humanity and ALL Life on this planet!

Dr. Thierry Vrain – an expert in genetic engineering and a retired scientist who worked for Agriculture Canada as Head of Biotechnology for over 30 years – asked to meet with the Canadian Minister of Health – Rona Ambrose - long before the re-evaluation process; he wrote a letter both to Rona Ambrose and to Health Canada to provide them with the peer-reviewed and published scientific literature and evidence of the last five to ten years documenting the human, animal and the environmental hazards of glyphosate and Roundup for Health Canada to analyse during the “re-evaluation” process of glyphosate. However, Rona Ambrose refused to meet with Dr. Vrain.

Please watch this very informative (and frightening) lecture by Dr. Thierry Vrain on the human health toxicity of glyphosate/Monsanto's RoundUp herbicide, backed by published peer-reviewed scientific studies. You can also listen to this very informative interview with Dr. Thierry Vrain on the human health and environmental hazards of glyphosate.

Rachel Parent - a young Canadian activist lobbying in favor of GMO labeling in Canada - has also recently met with the Canadian Health Minister (after waiting for more than a year) and with Health Canada officials to discuss the issue of GMO labeling and food safety in Canada. You can read her reflections and notes on her meetings with both the Canadian Health Minister and Health Canada officials published here and you can also follow her work on her website.

Tragically, but unsurprisingly, PMRA/Health Canada have decided to re-approve and to re-authorize both the use and the sale of glyphosate and of Monsanto's Round Up Ready herbicide, in spite of the mountain of independent peer-reviewed and published scientific literature and documented evidence of the human and animal health and environmental hazards of glyphosate! You can read Health Canada's “re-evaluation” and approval decision on their website.

Both Rona Ambrose/Health Canada and Richard Aucoin/PMRA have a public mandate and a legal obligation and responsibility to make sure that the food Canadians eat, the water they drink and the air they breathe is safe for human consumption and for their health and to protect our environment. However, glyphosate and Monsanto's RoundUp are now ubiquitous in our food supply, soil, water, air, environment and bodies, which puts the health of millions of Canadians at serious risk of a myriad of chronic diseases and the lives of millions of Canadians at grave danger of premature death.

I have written to both Rona Ambrose and Richard Aucoin to express my deep concern and worry over PMRA/Health Canada's favourable re-evaluation of glyphosate and have asked them both to carefully analyze and take into account all of the peer-reviewed and published scientific literature and empirical evidence on the human and animal health and environmental toxicity of glyphosate, Monsanto's RoundUp and Dow's Enlist Duo herbicides, and to urgently use and apply the Precautionary Principle to outright ban the further importation, sale and use of both glyphosate, Monsanto's RoundUp and Dow's Enlist Duo in Canada to protect both our health and our environment.

The approval for the sale and use of glyphosate, Monsanto's RoundUp, Dow's Enlist Duo and other highly toxic, poisonous and lethal herbicides, pesticides and chemicals is truly a Crime Against Humanity and a crime against all Life on this planet!

Glyphosate, Monsanto's RoundUp and Dow's Enlist Duo herbicides (and ALL other toxic herbicides and pesticides) MUST urgently and indefinitely be BANNED from this planet! Nothing less than the future survival of humanity and of all life on this planet is at stake!

Breaking News update (27 April, 2015):

A European coalition of NGO's has written an open letter to the Chinese government to ban both the production of glyphosate in China (China is the largest producer of glyphosate in the world), as well as to ban the importation of GMO's (GM soy, corn, etc.) grown using Monsanto's RoundUp Ready herbicide.

Furthermore, over 30,000 physicians from Argentina have written to the government to ban glyphosate in Argentina. In a published statement they write: “Glyphosate not only causes cancer. It is also associated with increased spontaneous abortions, birth defects, skin diseases, and respiratory and neurological disease.” Argentina is the third largest producer of GM soy and GM corn.

Breaking News update: 13/05/15

Germany’s state consumer protection ministers are calling for an EU-wide ban of glyphosate/Roundup after it was classified as a probable human carcinogen by the WHO.

Over 350 retail stores in Germany have also decided to remove and to ban the sale of glyphosate/Roundup across Germany.

(14 May) The International Society of Doctors for the Environment (ISDE) have written a letter to the President of the EU Parliament to request a ban on glyphosate-based herbicides and other toxic pesticides used in the EU.

Bermuda has also decided to ban the importation and sale of glyphosate/Roundup following the WHO's classification of glyphosate as a probable human carcinogen.

Breaking News update:

(25 May) Sri Lanka president bans the importation and use of glyphosate due to scientific evidence linking the use of glyphosate in agriculture to an epidemic of chronic kidney disease (CKDu) among agricultural workers in the country.

(30 May) Danish Environment Authority declares glyphosate a carcinogen

(03 June) Two largest supermarkets chains in Switzerland ban the sale of products containing glyphosate over health concern

(08 June) Over 80 scientists have signed an open letter to all governments to ban glyphosate and Monsanto's RoundUp due to its toxicity to both human and animal health and the environment/biodiversity.

(17 June) Breaking news: France bans sales of Monsanto's Roundup

BREAKING NEWS UPDATE

Professor Gilles-Eric Séralini has published a landmark study on the toxicity of lab feed used in the control group; in fact, professor Séralini has alarmingly found that all the feed used in the laboratory control groups is contaminated with glyphosate/Roundup, GMO's and other toxic chemicals. This is very significant because it falsifies and invalidates all GMO and pesticides toxicity studies and approvals carried out over the last +15 years.

Moreover, Dr. Anthony Samsel has obtained and analyzed the "secret" data from Monsanto submitted to the US EPA in 1978-1980 for the approval of glyphosate. Alarmingly, Dr. Samsel found that Monsanto had falsified the data submitted to the EPA using "historical controls" to hide the toxicity of glyphosate on human health. Furthermore, Dr. Samson also analyzed samples of the lab chow used in the laboratory control group and found that "all of them were contaminated with glyphosate, GMO's, vitamin inducing cancers and folic acid which causes mammary tumors."

Dr. Samsel explains that using glyphosate, GMO, etc. in lab chow to feed control groups falsifies the result of all toxicology studies and invalidates the regulatory approval of all GMO's and pesticides. He concludes by saying that all GMO and pesticide studies submitted for regulatory approval over the last +15 years must be reviewed and that "science will have to reconsider the safety of glyphosate. Glyphosate is not a probable human carcinogen. It IS a human carcinogen" concludes Dr. Samsel.

Dr. Samsel is currently writing a paper on glyphosate and cancer which will be published this fall (2015). Please watch and share this alarming and landmark interview with Dr. Anthony Samsel.
To be followed...

News update on the IARC findings and classification of glyphosate as a probable human carcinogen:

The WHO has appointed a so-called Joint FAO/WHO Meeting on Pesticide Residues (JMPR) "expert task force" which is in charge of assessing the risks of pesticide residues in food and performing risk assessments for regulatory purpose. However, a coalition of CSO found that three of the eight task force "experts" have financial and professional ties to Monsanto and to the biotech and chemical industry. The CSO have written a letter to the WHO/FAO/JMPR to denounce this flagrant conflict of interest. I am enclosing an article on the subject as well as a copy of their letter

The Genocide and Ecocide of GMO-RoundUp soy plantations in South America

Please watch and widely share this 10 minute documentary and this BBC documentary that gives a (tragic) glimpse of the human Genocide and the environmental Ecocide resulting from the growing of Monsanto's GM Roundup Ready soy in Paraguay (and elsewhere in South America) using glyphosate and Monsanto's toxic, poisonous and lethal RoundUp herbicide.

What is important to understand is that all of the GM soya and corn produced in South America ( Paraguay, Argentina, Brazil, etc.) as well as in the US and Canada is used mainly to feed livestock in affluent meat consuming countries such as the US, Canada, the EU, Japan, China, etc. Therefore, all those who consume (non-organic) meat (beef, pork, chicken, etc.) and their produce (milk, cheese, yogurt, eggs, etc.) - through ignorance or worse indifference - are as responsible and guilty as Monsanto et al. of the resulting human Genocide and the Ecocide of the planet. In fact, if hundreds of millions of people stop buying and eating meats (and their produce) that is fed GM soya and GM corn (and now GM alfalfa), as well as all processed so-called "food" that contain GM soya, maize, canola, sugarbeet, etc. (+90% of all processed "food" and drinks), Monsanto and the entire biotech industry would simply and inevitably collapse...

Peaceful, non-violent, non-cooperation with the system and the oppressor...

Other urgent action to be taken to ban glyphosate, Monsanto's RoundUp and Dow's Enlist Duo

Glyphosate, Monsanto's RoundUp and Dow's Enlist Duo pose a great and very serious threat to the health of millions of people around the world as well as to the environment and to the entire ecosystem. It is therefore extremely important to advocate for the urgent and complete ban of glyphosate, Monsanto's RoundUp and Dow's Enlist Duo.

Glyphosate's toxicity: Monsanto's and the biotech industry's Achille's heel...

I believe that the recent avalanche of independent peer-reviewed and published scientific literature and documented empirical evidence of the human and animal health and the environmental hazards of glyphosate, could very well be Monsanto's and the biotech industry's Achille's heel. In fact, over 90% of all GMO's produced in the world are herbicide-tolerant (HT) crops which require and use glyphosate and RoundUp Ready herbicides (please see graph below). Thus, if we all can successfully lobby the regulatory agencies to ban glyphosate, then it would no longer be possible for Monsanto and the biotech industry to grow GMO's, which would lead to the collapse of Monsanto and the biotech industry! No glyphosate = no RoundUp = no GMO's = No Monsanto = no more biotech industry!

Therefore, the current 2015 “re-evaluation” of glyphosate by the EPA, Health Canada and the EFSA is a real window of opportunity for the anti-GMO movement (and ALL of humanity) to defeat Monsanto and the biotech industry and to get rid of GMO's worlwide! The EPA, Health Canada and the EFSA are currently “re-evaluating” glyphosate for re-approval for another 15 years! However, they only accept and provide 1-2 months for so-called “public comments” on the re-evaluation and re-approval process. Health Canada has already "re-evaluated” glyphosate on 13 April, 2015 and is accepting “public comment” from the Canadian public for only 2 months (up to June 12). It is therefore crucial to act swiftly to prevent the re-approval of glyphosate and RoundUp in Canada for another 15 years!

You can also sign this petition from Greenpeace to ask the EPA, Health Canada and the EFSA to ban glyphosate and Monsanto's RoundUp.

Thank you for widely and urgently sharing this crucial information to raise awareness about this deadly issue before it is too late...

Together we can defeat MonSatan!

Truthfully,

Arya
